Experience a unique journey: the 2026 Legend Driving Tour

From June 28 to July 2, 2026, Motorsport Travel Destinations and Steph Hoy from the YouTube channel iDriveAClassic are offering an exclusive road trip: the Legend Driving Tour. A prestigious journey combining heritage, landscapes, and automotive passion, giving participants an unforgettable experience across France.

A carefully crafted itinerary from England to France

The trip begins in the United Kingdom, where participants board a ferry in Portsmouth bound for Caen, with a private cabin included. Once on solid ground, they will head through the peaceful Norman countryside before arriving at the Château de Saint Paterne around midday for lunch. The afternoon is left free to explore the surroundings or enjoy the historical setting of the château, followed by a warm and welcoming dinner.

Discovering the heritage of French automotive excellence

The following day, the group continues southeast through the Loire region. A major highlight awaits them in Romorantin-Lanthenay, with a visit to the Musée Matra, a landmark of French engineering. There, participants can dive into the legacy of motorsport and discover iconic vehicles.

After lunch, the road trip continues toward Auvergne and its volcanic landscapes. Guests will settle into the Volca’lodges nestled in the heart of nature, before enjoying another convivial dinner.

The Charade Circuit: a key moment of the journey

Nestled among the volcanoes of Auvergne and inaugurated in 1958, the Charade Circuit quickly became known as one of Europe’s most demanding tracks. It hosted four Formula 1 Grands Prix between 1965 and 1972, featuring legendary drivers such as Jim Clark, Jackie Stewart, and Graham Hill. Its original 8-km layout, famous for its dramatic elevation changes and 51 corners, earned it the nickname “the French Nürburgring.”

After the final Formula 1 race in 1972, the circuit continued to host major events before being redesigned in 1989 into its current, shorter (3.975 km) but still highly technical configuration. Today, it is home to the Classic Racing School, the first school dedicated to driving vintage single-seaters.

During the Legend Driving Tour, participants will enjoy a full immersion into historic motorsport thanks to a half-day driving experience in our vintage single-seaters. Guided by our team, they will discover the unique sensations of a light, agile, and authentic formula car — an exclusive experience including lunch, briefing, 3 driving sessions, and a closing aperitif — turning the visit to Charade into a true moment of pure driving.

To end this driving day, a group dinner will be held at the Michelin-starred gastronomic restaurant Le 9, before spending the night at the Royal Saint Mart hotel

A grand finale at Le Mans Classic Legend 2026

The last day of the tour coincides with the opening of Le Mans Classic Legend 2026, a must-see event for classic car enthusiasts. General admission is included, allowing participants to conclude the trip at the heart of motorsport history. A special discount is also offered for those wishing to extend their stay.

This journey offers full immersion in the world of classic cars, blending driving, cultural discovery, and convivial moments — all within a prestigious and historic setting.
